Defensive Shotgun for Home Defence

Master Your Shotgun: Run Your Shotgun Indoors Under Pressure And Protect Your Home.

Imagine this: It’s 2 AM, you’re awakened by glass breaking… you grab your shotgun, but panic, lack of control, poor ammo choice or shotgun unfamiliarity can mean disaster.

We give you step-by-step training — from handling and fundamentals to movement, clearances, low-light and split-second decisions. After this course, your shotgun goes from “safe storage ornament” to a reliable tool — even under pressure.

WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE

  • Shotgun Mastery: Know how to use, load, unload and maintain your shotgun safely.
  • Close-Quarters Confidence: Navigate doorways, hallways, furniture — and engage threats if needed.
  • Tactical Movement & Reloads: Shoot while moving, recover from malfunctions, reload under stress.
  • Low-Light Survival Skills: Use weapon-mounted light, identify targets, make decisions in the dark.
  • Weapon Integration: Seamlessly switch between shotgun and handgun if required.
  • Live Scenario Readiness: After the final module — you can confidently handle a home-invasion scenario, even in the dark.

As the lead instructor on Fortis’ Lone Operator program, he brings a mission-focused mindset and operational precision to the range — shaping shooters into capable, confident operators ready for real-world engagements.

His journey started young, pulling the trigger on a shotgun for the first time at just six years old while hunting with his father — a moment that sparked a lifelong pursuit of mastery. With over 15 years of experience training civilians, military units, law enforcement, and security teams, Shalto has built a reputation for uncompromising standards and high-performance results. Certified as a Tactical Firearms Instructor through the PFTC, he is fluent across all three major platforms — shotgun, self-loading rifle, and handgun — and his instruction reflects the mindset and skills demanded by modern tactical operations.

Under his leadership, Fortis courses are designed to build disciplined shooters from the ground up. From precision handling and rapid target acquisition to speed drills and tactical decision-making, every element of training is built around safety, communication, and progressive skill development.
