Why is training important?
Click here to read what criminals themselves said.
Are you prepared?
Do you think you can defend yourself and your loved ones in an attack?
Can your security personnel stand up and be counted when called upon?
Or are you like countless others who think the adrenaline rush will take care of it once the situation arises? If so, you are living a false sense of preparedness.
Criminals, specifically house robbers and farm attackers, work with a plan.
When they strike, they would have been watching you for at least days already, or a lot longer. They know your movements, very often have insider information, have escape routes, and each gang member has specific tasks during the attack. They prefer getting in when you are home, they are armed, and they see violence as a means to an end. They have no feelings for you, they WILL hurt you.
Bargaining on your “army training” of 20 years ago, or the adrenaline rush, or that firearm that has been in the safe for the last 9 months, is a gamble. A gamble with human lives at stake.
Bargaining on the Police, or the security company, or your alarm system, or your Rottweiler, or you electric fence to stop them, is a gamble. There are simply not enough SAPS members to cover every single house!
If they WANT to get in – they WILL get in.
The biggest mistake we make is to imagine that all these measures ensure our safety. All of them have a definite role to play, but are either mostly reactive in nature (police and security), or merely early warning systems (fences, alarms, lights, dogs etc) – to ensure YOU are not caught asleep in your bed.
It can take a good reaction company at least 3 minutes, or longer, to reach you. All that time, it is YOU against the criminals. That is more than enough time for them to change your life, forever.
And this is the question – what do you do if they DO get inside your home?
