Medics and paramedics in South Africa can be subjected to various forms of violence, such as:

  1. Assaults: Physical attacks from patients, their family members, or bystanders during emergency situations.
  2. Hijackings: Ambulances being hijacked for their equipment, drugs, or to access secure areas.
  3. Robberies: Theft of personal belongings, medical supplies, or equipment from ambulance staff.
  4. Gang violence: Encountering dangerous situations in gang-controlled areas, where they may be caught in crossfire or targeted for treating rival gang members.
  5. Protests: Encountering violence during civil unrest or protests, where emergency responders may be targeted or accidentally harmed.
  6. Verbal abuse: Threats, insults, or intimidation from patients or others at the scene.

Paramedics in South Africa are under constant threat of violence when responding to emergencies. We understand the risk involved and as part of our service to these first responders, we offer a Free One Day Defensive course to paramedics.

This is a firearms course, so you need to own your own licensed firearm.
